Azle Christian Church Youth Ministry
The Current Sunday School Study
CYF Sunday School: CYF will be discussing some pretty heavy topics in the upcoming weeks at
Sunday School such as: Prayer in School, Sexism, the Nature of Jesus, and the
purpose of the Church, to name a few. We hope to come to a better understanding of
what the wider church understands about these topics as well as how we as individuals
feel about them. I look forward to have some good discussions!

So if you are in grades 9-12 join us Sunday mornings at 10am in the MUB for this fun and exciting study.

Chi-Rho Sunday School - The Chi Rho has been working for a while studying the many key figures of the Bible, and now they have begun studying the different parables of Jesus and discovering how they can apply them to their daily lives.
The Youth Groups
CYF is the Christian Youth Fellowship and is the name of our high school age group, grades 9-12. Our CYF attends the Trinity Brazos Area CYF Fall and Winter retreats, as well as the Trinity Brazos Area CYF Summer Camps in Athens, Texas.

Chi-Rho- Chi and Rho are the first two letters of the Greek word Cristos which means Christ or Messiah. This also refers to our middle school aged groups, grades 6-8. Our Chi Rho group attends the Trinity Brazos Area Chi Rho Fall and Winter retreats as well as the Trinity Brazos Area Chi Rho Summer Camps in Athens Texas.

JYF is the Junior Youth Fellowship and is the name of our elementary school group, grades 3-5. Our JYF participate in the Trinity Brazos Area JYF Summer Camp in Athens Texas.

All of our youth meet in our Multi Use Building (MUB) on Sunday afternoons from 1:00pm-2:30pm. We meet together to play games, worship God, and then we split the age groups up and have a Bible Study. The CYF and Chi Rho groups also go on an annual mission trip every year.
The Current Bible Study
The entire Youth Group, grades 4-12, will embark on a study of faith and film/literature. We will take five weeks to look at and compare Harry Potter and the Bible. Next we will look at the Christ figures that appear in Tolkien’s classics, the Lord of the Rings. Finally we will turn our attention to the similarities between the Gospel and C.S. Lewis’ wonderful Christian allegory, the Chronicles of Narnia. We will be meeting from 1 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. every week. After each section is finished, we will take one afternoon to relax and watch a film from each series & all are invited to join the youth. Those dates will be announced later. We hope to see you there.
